The
lone Captain's sweater in my collection. Pierre Turgeon's Home jersey
exhibits moderate wear with several stick marks, a few unrepaired holes,
one team repair, and great red and green paint transfer from the boards.
An exceedingly fine jersey from this 1300-plus point, perennial Hall of
Famer. He spent 2 seasons as the Habs Captain, and is best remembered in
this capacity for the torch-lighting ceremonial closing of the hallowed
Montreal Forum.
Overall, many hockey fans will recall Pierre's being on the
receiving end of the Dale Hunter hit during the Islanders/Capitals
series during the 1992-93 Play-offs that successfully ended both of
their post-seasons.
Turgeon was the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy recipient that same
year.
