54 Pro Player home jersey from sniper Mike Ribeiro.
Mike moved back and forth from the minor leagues to the big club
during the 1999-2000 season, consequently the jersey shows little wear
with a minimal amount of puck and stick marks, and two or three streaks
of paint transfer that are perceptible.
The “NHL 2000” crest is affixed to the right breast and has
some light fraying.
Mike amassed 167 points during his 1998-1999 crusade with the
Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the QMJHL, but has yet to make his presence
felt completely at the professional level.
Ribeiro incited Bruins fans during the 2004 Play-offs when he
collapsed some 20 feet in front of the
Boston
bench after a “phantom” hit from
Boston
’s Mike Knuble.
As far as collisions go, it certainly wasn’t spectacular, but
many hockey observers feel that Ribeiro’s “dive” changed the
course of the series.
Mike galled the Bruins bench with the gloved “bring it on’
gesture after his miraculous recovery, and the Canadiens went on not
only to win the game, but 4 of the next 5 to shock the heavily favored
Bruins and advance to play the eventual Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay
Lightning.
